Unit

Meaning :

A “unit” refers to a single measure of something, while “price per unit”  indicates the cost of one quantity. This concept is used to calculate the total price based  on how many units you purchase or consume.

Example :

For example, if your electricity bill shows ₹6 per unit of electricity consumed  and you use 100 units, you will pay 100 × 6 = ₹600.

How to Understand :

A unit represents one piece or measurement of something.

Understanding price per unit helps you:

See how prices are calculated.

Compare costs between different products or services.

Manage and control your consumption.

Importance :

It makes pricing straightforward and transparent for consumers.

It allows consumers to monitor their usage of utilities like electricity, water, and gas.

This concept is applied in grocery shopping, billing, and manufacturing processes.

Knowing the price per unit helps you avoid overpaying by understanding how costs are  structured.
