ATM

Definition:

An ATM (Automated Teller Machine) is a machine that allows people to take  out or deposit money from their bank accounts without needing to go inside the bank.

Example:

Ramesh uses his SBI debit card at an HDFC ATM to withdraw ₹2,000 for his  school trip.

How to use an ATM:

  1. Insert your ATM card into the machine.
  2. Enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN).
  3. Select the option to withdraw money or check your balance.

Important Notes:

  • Banks like SBI, HDFC, and ICICI give ATM cards to account holders.
  • You can use ATMs from other banks, but there may be fees after a certain number of uses.
  • ATMs can be used at any bank, not just your own.
  • Always keep your PIN secret and block your card if it gets lost.
